My Review

For purposes of this review, I was sent a 7 oz. bag of Organic Pumpkin treats for my babies to try! If you've read previous blog posts of mine, you have probably already met Missy w/ my Organic Oscar review. I also have a hyper active Blue Heeler/Aussie cross named Bleu that honestly won't sit still long enough for a picture. Both of the two along with some of their cousins, were my test subjects. Trust me, they didn't mind one bit!
Missy, my prissy Cocker Spaniel tends to be a bit picky when it comes to what goes in the mouth. She's a meat and peanut butter kind of girl so I didn't know what she would think of these. She is also missing a few teeth that were pulled due to dental issues so I was afraid that may affect her eating these. Because these treats are quite hard/crunchy, it did take her a while to chew with fewer teeth, but she downed them without hesitation. Bleu on the other hand....well she'd eat anything. So, of course....you know what happened with these.
I must also mention my canine nephew, a tiny Yorkie, thought it was absolutely hysterical to roll these perfectly round treats around the kitchen floor for 10 minutes prior to eating! Not only a delicious treat, but a temporary toy too!

So....what would your doggy do for a 4Legz treat?
Sit? Shake? Beg?

You know those times when you really know you need to get up and work out but you're just so comfortable or have no energy? Yeah, I get those days too! Fortunately, there are things to give you that little boost of energy that you need to get up and get going. Fe Fit Fuel bars are one of those things. They're even better as fuel for your muscles AFTER your workout!

Fe Fit Fuel bars are a mini snack packed with protein (and energy)! They are also gluten free and a paleo whole natural food. These bars come in 3 enticing flavor selections. You may also purchase them in a combo pack that will include all 3 flavors. The three C's:

- Cacao Nib Almond
- Cashew Apricot
- Coconut Pecan

I must admit, when I saw these, I was a little iffy. Firstly, they are mini! However, when you eat them, they are very dense and there is more to them than what you see! If you want to get technical, the bars range between 1.13 and 1.16 ounces a piece. Fair weight for such a small snack! Though my attempt above was to show the size, sometimes pictures can be deceiving. In comparison to size (not weight), these would be similar to a 'fun size' candy bar that you would purchase in packs in the store.

Next, I opened a package (these pictures happen to be the Cashew Apricot variety). No, they do not look appetizing. At least to me they don't. But please keep in mind that these are Paleo and All Natural. If you want the health benefits, you may just have to give up the visual appeal. Many health concious eaters are already accustomed to this.

The taste test. The most exciting part, right? Being packed with 10 grams of protein in this tiny bar, I was a bit skeptical that it would have that 'taste'. You know the one! Fortunately these do not have that dry, protein-like flavor to them. They have a very fresh, natural flavor instead. Almost as if the ingredients were just all slapped together with some honey! Can't get any more fresh than that! For reference, here is the list of ingredients in the Cashew Apricot variety. Both other bars are similar, with the exception of a few ingredients.

Isolate whey protein, raw pecans, organic dates, raw cashews, dried apricot, organic raw coconut, spring water, raw honey, organic coconut sugar, organic chia seeds, organic ground flax seed, raw organic extra virgin coconut oil, pure vanilla extract, sea salt

Like vinegar and baking soda, castile soap is extremely versatile. Carolina Castile Soap is just that. These soaps are made from a mixture of oils (mainly olive) as well as cocoa butter. Many if not all of the oils included in the making of soap are organic. No fake dyes or scents are used in the soaps and they do not contain sodium laureth/lauryl sulfate as many big name brands do. Carolina Castile Soap is also animal and environmental friendly, a big plus! They also do not use false foaming agents, something that can not be said about many soaps/shampoos/etc. found in big box stores. After all, it isn't the suds that clean. ;)

As mentioned earlier, castile soap is very versatile and multi-purpose. Here is just a small list of some of its uses:

Shampoo - Hand Soap - Dog Shampoo - Laundry Detergent - Face Wash - Dish Soap - Mopping Floors - General House Cleaner - Cleaning Wipes - Vegetable Rinse - Carpet Cleaner - Dishwasher Detergent - Shaving Cream - Baby Shampoo/Wash - Body Wash - Bathroom Scrub

While Carolina Castile Soap offers many fragrances available on their website, I was sent the Gentle Unscented variety to review (plus share an awesome DIY) and giveaway. This specific castile soap is made with 7 ingredients. SEVEN. Plus, I can pronounce all of them. I'm told by a very wise one (thanks momma!), that if you can't pronounce the ingredient, it probably ain't good for ya! In case you're curious, here is the ingredient list:

Organic Olive Oil - Organic & Fair Trade Cocoa Butter - Organic Coconut Oil - Citric Acid - Potassium Hydroxide - Tocopherol (Vitamin E) - Water

So anyway, my first goal was to create a shampoo recipe. I scoured Pinterest to find a recipe and gave a few a try. I just made enough of each for a single use to test them out. It turns out that there were things I liked and didn't like about each. Therefore, I took it upon myself to try my own combinations to see what I liked best. Please keep in mind that all formulas work differently with individual body chemistry. If this doesn't work for you, try tweaking the recipe until you find something that does. I will post substitutions below the recipe for you to experiment with. Lastly, don't freak out when you mix your ingredients and see that they are a consistency between water and shampoo, this is normal. I actually prefer this over the cream/gel as it isn't so heavy for your hair.

Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Castile Soap
1/4 Cup Distilled Water
1/4 tsp. Vitamin E
5-10 Drops Essential Oil (I used Lavender & Orange)

Directions:
1. Pour all ingredients into a glass bowl
2. Gently stir to avoid excessive foaming
3. Store in a squeeze bottle (I just recycled an empty one)
4. Enjoy

Substitutions:
○ If you are missing ingredients, Carolina Castile Soap can be used alone
○ You may substitute the Vitamin E (though it helps preserve) with Aloe Gel for the extra moisture
○ Use all Lavender oil to soothe scalp, including helping w/ dandruff
○ Peppermint oil will provide an invigorating perk to your scalp as well as help with oily hair
○ Cedarwood provides an earthy, musky scent that may help w/ hair regrowth
○ Use any mixture of essential oils that you think smell nice

Vellabox's packaging is simple, but very cute! Mine was wrapped in a couple pieces of burlap and tied with a basic jute bow! Upon unwrapping the candle, the jar/label were also simple, matching the packaging.

Don't let the 'simple' fool you when it comes to scent! I received the handmade Amber & Moss candle by P.F. Candle Co. All it took was a twist of the cover to discover the fragrance. To me, the scent is that of mens aftershave/cologne or maybe a shower gel/body wash. Is it something that I would pick out on my own? Probably not. However, that's part of the fun of this subscription, you never know what you'll get.

These candles burn very clean and are long lasting. I had mine burning for about 4 hours before blowing it out and there was no soot whatsoever to be found. As far as the candles burning for the mentioned amount of time (20-25 hrs.), I can't comment on that as I didn't want to burn it up in just a couple days. The scent also disperses very well. Within 5 minutes of lighting the candle on the main floor, I could already smell it from the upstairs of my home. It gives the entire house a very clean, fresh scent.

Overall, I was quite pleased with Vellabox and the quality of products that they offer. Though $10 may seem on the spendy side for a 4 oz. candle, they are very high quality unlike something that you could buy at a big box store. Plus, you are left with a cute little jar to use in crafts once the candle is gone. This subscription would also make the perfect gift!

So I've been blogging on here since July of 2012 but I feel like I have yet to tell you about myself aside from the tiny bio at the bottom. Not that anyone cares or that it's important, but sometimes I like to know about the writers of my favorite blogs, so maybe others do too! To solve this issue, here is a blog post dedicated to....me....which you probably will never see again on this blog. I'll ask myself 20 questions and provide you with the answers and that should do it! Now...I'm not going to ask what my favorite colors are (which are orange and purple), because well...that's just not fun...or interesting.

1. If you sat at a 'Mean Girls' table in High School, which would it be?
"I'd be sitting over there with the art freaks."

2. Where did your blog name come from?
Well, when I was totally new to the world of blogging, I started a few separate blogs for multiple WOM marketing sites. Then I realized I really only needed one generalized review blog for all sites. I transferred all of my posts to 'Pieces of Influence' because that blog name was my favorite out of the ones I had. 'Pieces of Influence' was originally made for reviewing items from Influenster.

3. What is your phones current ringtone?
Leave the Night On - Sam Hunt

4. Where is your dream vacation?
I'd LOVE to visit Australia!

5. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Pushing! Literally. When you're in the store...or anywhere, it's so easy to just say 'excuse me', but instead so many choose to just nudge you out of the way. Ugh!

6. What are your favorite animals?
Well, I adore dogs, cats and horses...but those are too basic! Aside from pets, I love love love owls, squirrels....and black bears. Lets just say, I love all animals. ;)

7. If your closest friends had to describe you with one word, what would it be?
Dork

8. What is the last movie that you watched?
Well just now, while writing this, I'm watching 'Living with the Enemy' on LMN.

9. What was your first job?
When I was 15-ish, I babysat for the neighbors on nights and some weekends for many years.

10. What is your favorite meal?
Roast with sauerkraut and peeled potatoes all in one dish! Though, I don't really eat meat, so that part gets passed on.

11. Were you in any extra curricular activities in high school?
Yes, I was in FFA and loved it! Wish there was an 'after graduation' version of FFA.

12. Early bird or night owl?
Well...I'm def. not a morning person! I wouldn't say I'm a complete night owl either though...kinda in-between.

13. Besides blogging, what are your hobbies?
LOTS of things! I play guitar, scrapbook, do photography, spend time with pets, workout, and a whole lot more.

14. Do you have any nicknames?
Nah. When I was little, sometimes people would call me Sara Bear, but that didn't last long.

15. What did you want to 'grow up' to be?
For a long time, I wanted to be a cosmetologist, but that has faded. Oh how things change!

16. Guilty pleasure song?
Pretty much any Spice Girls song. After all...I was in a Spice Girls club when I was in elementary school. Lol! xD

17. Do you have any weird talents?
If bending just the tip of my left index finger forward is a talent, then yes! However...that may just be because it accidentally got smashed in a car door when I was little.

18. Would you rather travel back in time or into the future?
I'd go back to the 80's because....who wouldn't want to?!?

19. Which chore do you dislike most?
Dusting! Ugh! I'd rather clean toilets all day...well....maybe not!

20. Where is your favorite place to shop?
Target.

Well that was rather quick and easy! Hope I didn't completely bore you with the questions. Now....back to doing reviews and DIY's! (:

I absolutely LOVE trying new shampoos and conditioners so you can imagine how excited I was to have the opportunity to try this!
While a tiny detail, I was really pleased to see that all 3 items came shrink wrapped through the mail. I don't know how many times I have received lotions/shampoos/conditioners/other liquids in the mail and had them leaking everywhere. Such a pain to clean up. Also....I will tell you from my experience...you have to take the shampoo/conditioner top off to remove a foil piece. With my first use, I was wondering why it was so difficult to get the shampoo out. It turns out, the foil was partially opened and that made it hard to squeeze. Silly mistake! Anyway....let's get down to the nitty gritty!

This product is specially made to repair, restore and strengthen hair that has been previously damaged. It also helps lock in moisture and gives your hair a nice shine! While I do not often use much product or heat tools in my hair, it still shows a bit of damage. My hair is very long and tends to get tugged around on by kids, pets and who knows what else. While I probably haven't used the system quite long enough to notice a huge difference, in the short term, I have noticed that my hair is much more smooth and less frizzy. The shampoo is also Sulfate free and therefore is much more gentle on your hair. While not a make a break factor, the scent is also AMAZING! It is quite strong, so if you're sensitive to scents, you may not appreciate this. However, it has a very fresh, maybe slightly floral scent. My only very slight issue with this is that (aside from the foil issue above) it is still a bit difficult to get the product out. The bottle is quite tall and the product is thick enough to where it is a bit difficult to 'shake' to the opening. But then again....maybe I'm just picky!
The conditioner is also made to accomplish the same goals as above, plus detangling. I really appreciate the fact that the brand also included argan oil in the conditioner as well as the shampoo. Double the oil, double the moisture. When it comes to detangling, I always apply the product and comb my fingers through my hair. With this conditioner, it was very easy to get the knots out and smooth my hair. As far as issues, the only thing I noticed is the very minor problem that I mentioned with the shampoo.
Star of the show! Out of all three products that I was able to try, this was my favorite! Best deep conditioner I have tried by far. Once again, this was created for the purposes mentioned above. However, to me this works like something that would cost twice the price! You know that feeling when you go to the salon and get your hair cut? It feels super smooth and 'new'? That is what this did to my hair! Instantly when I applied it in the shower, my hair felt like silk! Plus, it is super easy to use! Just apply it, comb through, let it sit for a few minutes and rinse it out. Once dry, my hair had volume, shine, moisture and lack of frizz! I was so pleased with this product and will definitely purchase in the future!
If you have damaged hair, this would definitely be something that you should try out. If nothing else, at least the deep conditioning mask! Or, if you're looking to start with sulfate free shampoo, or change your current, this product would be a great, affordable alternative!

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you probably already know that my normal post is just a product review. While I love reviewing products, I also love DIY projects and anything that involves 'cooking' if you can call it that. So......not only do I have a product review for you, but I also have an EXTREMELY simple DIY recipe project to share!

The recipe that I will be giving you is for some Sugar Scrub! Sounds yummy...but this isn't edible, but your body will love it! With just 3 simple ingredients, you'll have a luxury beauty product in just a few minutes time. When I create this product, I like to make several very small batches so that I can add different scents and package them separately. If you'd like, feel free to double, triple or even quadruple this recipe to make a larger jar full. Trust me, you'll love it!

Step 1:
In a small bowl, measure out 1/3 cup of fractionated coconut oil. I used oil from Pure Body Naturals which can be purchased on Amazon! This product is 100% pure and natural making it perfect for any beauty care needs. It is also a great moisturizer which is its purpose in the scrub, but will not clog pores. The oil is completely clear and odorless, making it excellent to use to create unscented products, or ones where you want to add your own fragrance. Lastly, it makes a perfect carrier oil for using essential oils, which will also be part of this recipe.

Step 2:
Add 5 or so drops of your favorite essential oil to the coconut oil and mix. In the pictured scrub, I used an organic peppermint. I absolutely love the 'cool', almost energizing feeling that you get from peppermint essential oil. If you're looking for some basics on essential oils, you can check out my review HERE

Step 3:
Add 1/2 cup sugar to your oil mixture and stir. If you want to keep the scrub more natural, feel free to use an organic sugar. Otherwise, white sugar that you use for baking works just fine. If you do use organic, it is possible that the scrub may have a yellow-ish tint depending on the kind that you use. No biggie. The sugar works as an exfoliate and removes dead skin cells from your body. It also gives the scrub a light sweet scent.

Step 4:
Package your scrub in an airtight container and store. I used a cute little glass canning jar with a plastic screw on lid. I also added some ribbon and a bow for a little decoration. Lastly, I topped it off with a 'Sugar Scrub' label so that the product gets used for it's specified purpose. Here is what my finished product looked like:

Keep in mind that this recipe can be adjusted to fit your likes/needs. If you would prefer a stronger or more mild scent, add more or less essential oils. Also, if you would prefer the scrub to be thinner or thicker, add more or less sugar/oil. It could be a fun experiment. Maybe you want to make several batches with different amounts to see which you'd prefer. It's so quick and simple to make that you could make several at once.

You can use the scrub on everything from your hands to your arms and legs and even your lips. Yes, your lips (and while it may taste good, please don't eat it!)! Simply rub a small amount on any area you would like, wait for a few minutes and then rinse. I absolutely love the way this fractionated coconut oil works in the scrub! It gives plenty of moisture without going overboard. I don't typically like to use it straight from the bottle as it sometimes creates a 'sheen' on your skin. That being said, it does work wonders.

-----------------------------------------------

Recipe:

1/3 Cup Fractionated Coconut Oil
5 Drops Essential Oil (Any Scent)
1/2 Cup Sugar

Directions:
1. Mix fractionated coconut oil and essential oil together in small bowl
2. Add sugar and mix
3. Store in airtight container
4. Enjoy!

Oh yus! Thank yooouuuu Influenster! As I may have mentioned in the past, Influenster is one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite word of mouth site out there. If this box doesn't prove why, I don't know what will! I was shocked when I opened up such a small box to find it filled with such a large amount of goodies! So...read on to find some new favs!

Beanitos Chips
Melt in your mouth goodness to the max!
The first bag that I tried were the Nacho Cheese! I instantly noticed that yes, they are a bit too salty. BUT....the chips literally melt in your mouth like cheese puffs or puff corn! Yum! A few days later, I gave the restaurant style chips a try. While I wasn't as amazed by these, they were still delicious. I have had black bean chips before and they tasted similar. If you've ever had any sort of 'bean' chips, you have an idea what these would taste like. If you've never had bean chips before, they literally taste like crispy, crunchy beans! Sounds odd, but tasted great!

Would I purchase: Yes to the Nacho Cheese, no to the Restaurant Style

Covergirl UltraSmooth Foundation
Wow was I lucky on this one! It's sooo hard to choose make-up shades by an online swatch, but I had to do just that. Guess what!?!? It turned out to be the perfect shade! I love that this product comes with its own cute little applicator (though not visible in pics). I'm not one to use my fingers, so I have used a brush in the past. Well...that's a quick way to wear out brushes. The applicator is quick and easy to clean. As the name states, the foundation does apply very smoothly. Other than that, there isn't a huge difference from other basic Covergirl foundations. As far as coverage goes, I would say it is between medium and full and applies very evenly.

Would I purchase: On occasion, but not exclusively

L'Occitane Shea Butter Light Comforting Cream
Hmmmmm??? I can't really make up my mind on this one. I absolutely love how the lotion feels on your skin. Super soft and smooth! It's also extremely light and doesn't clog your skin. However, I'm not a huge fan of the scent. Normally I'd prefer unscented or fruity scents. This, to me, has a general lotion-y scent or almost like a baby powder. It's also pretty expensive but regardless, the stuff works crazy good!

Unfortunately this product came in the form of a FREE Product Coupon. Also unfortunately, there are not stores near me that sell this product. Montagne Jeunesse Face Masques
I've used many Montagne Jeunesse products in the past, so this is nothing new to me! I have yet to find one of their products that I dislike and this is no different. One thing that you should remember about peel off masks is that you should apply them very thin! If you get too much of the product on at one time, it takes far too long to dry. One thin, even layer and you're good to go. Love the 'Honey' part of this as well, smells great! I've also heard that honey is rather good for your skin!

SkinnyGirl Tasty Nutrition Bar
What a perfect combination. How can you go wrong with dark chocolate and banana?! Now....if you don't like banana, I would suggest NOT trying this specific flavor. The main thing you taste is the banana...but not the artificial 'candy' banana flavor. No. It literally tastes like banana was blended and added to the bar. Then you taste the chocolate! To me, the chocolate tastes more like semi-sweet than it does dark. I do like dark chocolate though, so it's possible that it may taste a bit more on the bitter side if you're not a fan. I have had other flavors of these bars in the past and they are absolutely delicious, so if you don't like this flavor combo, try another! Trust me, you'll love them. Plus, the bars are 150 calories of nutrition! At 7 grams of protein per bar, this is a perfect snack to tide you over.

Listerine Pocketpaks
Wowza! Lots of spice in a tiny 'Pak'! I have had similar strips in the past but I don't remember them having that much oomph! Basically these are like a little square of tissue paper looking stuff that dissolves on your tongue. It takes a short time for the strip to dissolve, but the freshness lasts for hours. To get an idea of the flavor, it would taste similar to that of Listerine mouthwash. I also did a bit of research and found that they come in other flavors as well. Knowing this, I actually already picked up another 3 pack of a different flavor (Coolmint). These too had a lot of oomph but just in a different minty flavor. Both worked equally as well.

Dentek Fun Flossers
CUTE! I've looked at flossers in the store before but have never seen the 'Fun' ones! I don't have kids, so maybe they are in the kids section? Anyway....I brought these to my nieces to try out. Of course they grabbed them instantly without even knowing what they are. After showing them, both had their teeth cleaner than what the dentist would provide (Haha)! So...in other words...if you're little one doesn't like to floss, give these a try! Maybe the 'fun' factor will get them more excited about oral hygiene.

Would I purchase: No, only because I don't have kids

Dentek Comfort Clean Floss Picks
I have used another brand of similar flossers before so I was excited to compare the two! What I really loved about these is that they have a pick on one side! This often comes in handy, especially after a meal/etc. They also have a nice minty flavor to help freshen breath. Always a plus! I did notice that the floss on them tends to stretch (if that makes sense), so it does get a little hard to completely finish flossing your teeth. However, I've never had it actually break on me.

So this is pretty much one of the coolest products that I have reviewed thus far! I mean...who even knew that something like this existed. I sure didn't! If you also are not familiar with what this is, please keep reading. Actually...even if you already know what it is....keep reading too! ;)

About the Product

Fibolica is basically little tiny fibers that when applied to your hair, attach to strands like little tiny magnets. Anybody with hair loss or even mildly thinning hair will appreciate this product. Men and women alike. The product comes in 9 colors so that you can get the perfect shade. It is recommended that if you are unsure between two shades, that you choose the darker of the two. I was in this predicament, and was glad that I chose the darker. The bottle is similar to that of any hair powder or almost like a 'salt/pepper shaker' with a lid. Plus, one small, 25 gram bottle lasts for 2 whole months!! Simply remove the cap, shake a small amount onto thinning areas and gently pat. You can even put a few layers on for coverage to your liking. In case you are curious as I was, here is what the product looks like on a plain sheet of paper:

My Review & Results

Ever since high school, there is one spot on my hair that when parted, is slightly wider than the rest. I normally wouldn't part my hair here, but for review purposes, I did. My goal was to show how well...or terribly this product worked. Before seeing the result, I was extremely impressed with the ease of using the product. If need be, I could easily get up each morning, shake a little Fibolica on and go! I noticed instantly that the fibers were a bit darker than my hair color, but it ended up blending in beautifully. Now comes the fun part, before and after! Both pictures were taken within 5 minutes of each other in the exact same location under the same light. No trickery here.

How cool is that?!? Yeah, yeah...I know I didn't sprinkle it in completely even, but hey...it was my first try! This was only two very thin layers, so I can't imagine how thick and full my hair would look with more! While my hair isn't exactly 'thin' when parted in most spots, I'm still in love with this product and will use it just to give my hair a little boost! Now....to hunt down some baldies (I'm lookin' at you daddy!) to give this a try on! ;)

So, we all have those favorite stores that we just can't resist, right? You know...the ones that you go in looking for one item and an hour later you're still there for no reason?
Then...there are those stores that you try and avoid at all costs for whatever reason. Well.....let's talk about those. Please...keep an open mind and remember this is all opinion.

Let the countdown begin!

5. MENARDS
Typically when I go into Menards, it's for some sort of repair around the house. Well...it just so happens that I don't always know exactly what I need. Usually the employees in stores are able to point me in the right direction. Here....75% of the employees are not able to help. Not their fault. I have heard from several former employees that there is no training whatsoever. Instead, they just expect you to know what you're doing.

4. Goodwill
Shouldn't a second-hand store have second-hand prices?! I mean come on....I can buy half of the things sold here brand new for less. Many craft items, for example, are the same price at Joann! Sure, they at times have some very good sales, but not good enough for certain items. Plus, a 7 day return policy isn't nearly long enough. Not everyone lives next door to a Goodwill. Lastly...I thought the money made from sales was to 'help prepare people for work'? Now....they feel the need to ask you to round up your purchase to the nearest dollar to do the exact same thing. Say what?

3. Abercrombie & Fitch
For many...this one is probably a given. Who wants to shop at a store where the CEO was a complete jerk?! If you're not sure what I'm talking about, just google 'Michael Jeffries'. I'm sure you'll find some interesting articles. Plus, the scent is so horrendously strong walking past the store, I lose my breath. I can't imagine what it must smell like in the store.

2. Walmart
I'd be willing to bet that I'll get a lot of 'Why Walmart?' questions. Well....the only answer that I have for you is bad experiences. Firstly, Walmart prices are not cheaper! While comparing prices with many other stores, I have found Wally-world to be over priced on many items! Next, I have gotten so much bad fruit/veggies from there. Yuck. I don't know if they just get old produce or what the issue is...but no more wasting money on that. Lastly, do they not know how coupons work!? I don't know how many times I have had an employee tell me I can't use a coupon for this reason or that when I'm certain that I can. Luckily, when I do shop at Walmart, I have come to know which checkouts know what they're doing and which don't. So...I'm very selective when checking out! Oh....that's another huge thing! They NEVER have enough checkout lanes open!

1. claire's
Oh jeeze....where to start with this one?! I have never had an earring break/bend/discolor as fast as the ones from Claire's. I mean....I've bought $2 earrings that last longer. On multiple occasions I have even seen the posts bent in the packaging. Am I the only one who has this issue? Now this....this final issue that I have to harp about is absolutely insane to me. Luckily, it didn't happen to me...but poor sissy! So, my sister used to be way into purses and saw the coolest neon yellow purse hanging on the wall. Of course, she had to get it! It was one of those boho style bags with the magnetic snap closure at the top. She loved it until a week later the zipper pocket decided to break. No biggie....she just kept on using it. Not long after, one side of the magnetic snap fell off! You'll never guess what it was attached with...DUCT TAPE! Yes, really!!! The flippin' snaps were attached to the purse with duct tape! Sure duct tape fixes a lot, but it isn't meant to create purses! I mean...come on!? That wasn't the worst part. When she brought it back to the store to question the employees, they just shrugged their shoulder and said there was nothing they could do since the return policy had expired. Ugh....just ugh!

There you have it! Again, this list is simply based off of my experience. What stores do you avoid? Do you have any bad experiences to share? Chime in below! (:

As you probably already know, I normally write product reviews about things that I am sent specifically to review. In this case I happened to win some products that I just really like. And so....I decided to write a review to clue all of you in. Via the Innersense Organic Facebook page, I was lucky enough to win a Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave in Conditioner.

Before even checking out the products, I was obsessed with the packaging! So simple, so...organic looking! This would make such a nice gift for someone! Please note that I do not know if all orders come exactly like this, but I assume it would be similar!

So....let's get down to the good stuff, shall we?

Shampoo
Yum! This stuff literally smells edible. When I first opened it up, I was instantly reminded of grapefruit. However, I believe the scent is actually orange based on the ingredient list. Either way, it smells phenomenal! Seriously like fresh fruit! The next thing that I absolutely love about this shampoo is that it is sulfate free! Yes, such a huge plus! Sulfate is so rough on your hair that this shampoo was already high up in my book.
When applying the product, the first thing that I noticed was that it doesn't get nearly as sudsy as big name brands. However, it does spread easily and evenly through your hair. Besides....it isn't the suds that clean your hair anyway...right? Who needs them!?

Conditioner
Then comes my favorite part! I always have a heck of a time finding a good conditioner. I have super long, tangle and frizz prone hair so a conditioner is a must for me! While the scent isn't as yummy as the shampoo, this stuff surely works wonders! Firstly...and I know this sounds weird, but I love the looks of the conditioner. It may be slightly difficult to see in the picture (click to enlarge), but there are tiny speckles of matter in there. It feels very natural, fresh and minimally processed.
As far as use goes, the conditioner is awesome at de-tangling! I was literally able to brush through my hair with my fingers after applying the conditioner. That's rare. Pretty awesome too! Not only that, but it really smooths your hair.

Leave in Conditioner
Last but not least! I have only used this product once or twice before writing this post, so I haven't formed much of an opinion yet. I do absolutely love that Rosemary Essential oil is one of the ingredients. I have recently gotten into essential oils and know that Rosemary is great for hair! I have high hopes for this leave in conditioner. After longer use, I will update you with more info on this product!

Overall, I was pleased with Innersense Organic in general. I will definitely be using their products in the future as well as recommending them to others such as YOU, my incredible readers! Big thanks to the Innersense Organic team for the win and especially Lauren for the kind emails and support!

With a variety of shapes and a slight variety in sizes, these are perfect for most anything you can think up! The stickers are re-usable and can be written on (with chalk markers) over and over. For a permanent label, you could also use metallic sharpies or other permanent markers.

I tried not to go crazy....but anyone who knows me, knows that I can't resist craft projects. Soooo....needless to say, all of my jars (and much more) are labeled with these! In the picture below, I used some chalk markers to label my 'toilet bombs' which you may have seen featured in a previous post! I simply chose to go this way because I like to change things up from time to time. Maybe next time I'll use different colors..or....different designs....or maybe I'll put something new in the jar when the 'bombs' are gone! Who knows?!

Now...when you think of chalkboards or even stickers, you assume a super smooth, flat surface. These stickers actually have a very light texture to them giving them a matte appearance. However, this does not affect how they work. They still wipe off smoothly and are very easy to write on. While it is difficult to show, I attempted to magnify the product below to show the effect of the texture. These chalkboard stickers are also thin, but very strong making them blend into anything that you want to apply them to. If for whatever reason, you are not happy with the product (though highly unlikely), the company offers a 100% Lifetime Promise as noted on Amazon.

Yes, that's correct...another essential oil review! I know, I know....but what can I say, I'm addicted!
This time, I'll be reviewing a 4 oz. Peppermint oil by Lalune Naturals. Plus, the company was kind enough to offer a free bottle to one of my readers!

Before I get started, I just wanted to mention that this product does come with a glass dropper which is not pictured. Unfortunately, mine came broken in the mail which was absolutely no fault of the company. Just rough handling through the mail. Not really a biggie since I already have one of these. Also, you are given a FREE eBook which you can download by clicking the picture below! Don't thank me...thank Lalune Naturals! (:

So....here we go!

About the product:
• 100% Pure Mentha Arvensis
• Therapeutic Grade
• No fillers or additives
• 100% Steam Distilled
• Bottled in the USA
• Kosher and Vegan Certified
• National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy certified
• Cruelty Free (YAY!)

Comparison:
The first thing I planned on doing with this oil (besides sniffing away) was to compare it with the only other Peppermint oil I have used. While I'm no expert, I feel like my first oil was of pretty good quality. So....I decided to see if this brand was on par. The best way that I knew to compare them was with one of my 5 lovely senses...smell! While each oil had a slightly different scent, the strength and 'minty-ness' was very similar. It is very common for the same oils (even of the same brand) to have slight differences in scent because of how and where the plants are grown and cared for. Overall, I was quite pleased with the quality of the product.

Uses:
While there are many uses for Peppermint essential oil, simply diffusing it is one of my favorite! Below I took my mini diffuser bottle, cut up some skewers and made a mixture of water, dash of rubbing alcohol, Peppermint and Wild Orange essential oils. Equal drops of each (3 to 4) make the perfect combination to energize and help reduce stress. Check out the free eBook above for many more recipes from Face Masks to Spider Deterrent.

Pure body naturals Lemon Oil is 100% pure & natural making it perfect for many purposes. This lemon oil is perfect as a cleaner, in aromatherapy and for adding scent to skin/beauty products. The large, 4 oz. size is ideal for daily use and will last for a long time. With purchase, you will also be provided with a separate dropper for ease of use.

When I received my package, the oil bottle was packaged well inside a small box inside of a bubble mailer. When opening the packaging, I was glad to see that the oil came with a separate dropper. I do not like to keep a dropper in my oils as it may build up in the top rubber and eventually dissolve. I was also very pleased with the size of the bottle. I use essential oils for all of my cleaning needs and it can go very quickly. Having this 4 oz. bottle, I'm not having to buy new bottles of oil by the month.

Of course the scent is also very important. When I received this product in the mail it was a super cold day and the oil was pretty chilly. When I first smelled this, it didn't have as much of a lemon scent as I expected and was a bit 'bitter'. However, I believe that the cold may have effected this somewhat. Once it warmed up to room temperature, I gave it another try and by golly it was better! Now...it still wasn't as strong of lemon as what I expected, but don't get me wrong, there was def. a strong scent there. It was also less 'bitter' than it was the first time.

Next up was the fun part....testing it out! The first thing I used this oil for was cleaning the floors. I just took a bucket of water, added a few drops of lemon essential oil and got scrubbing. Let me tell you, my floors looked so shiny and bright! Not to mention, the house smelled nice and clean.

Then....I attempted to get some blue ink out of my beige rug in the living room. It is beyond me how the ink got there....but ya know....things happen. So....I added a bit of oil to my carpet shampooer. I instantly noticed that the stain got slightly lighter. Well....after many passes I just could not get it completely out. With high hopes and a little fear that it would bleach my carpet, I put some UN-diluted oil on the spot. Yes...I know you probably shouldn't do that...but... it worked! I went over it with the carpet shampooer after about 10 minutes and the stain was gone! Sure it took some time, but hey, it was worth it! Not only did it take the stain out, that spot looked sooooooo bright compared to the rest of the carpet. Of course, I went over the entire rug to even it out. Looked like brand new!

Lastly I created a room spray which you see (kind of) pictured above. I simply added about 1/2 cup water, 3 drops of lemon oil and 2 drops of ginger essential oil. Boy did this smell great! If you don't like the striking tangy scent of lemon, the ginger really warms it up and just smells great! I use this as a room spray as well as on fabric/linens. It's also safe for pets which is always a plus for anyone with furry...or feathery...or scaly friends!

Overall, I was really pleased with how effective this product was! While I expected a bit stronger scent, I still enjoyed the product. You can buy your own bottle on Amazon.

Now....for the last part of the award....I was given a list of 11 questions to answer for all of you guys! These are also the questions that I will pass on to my 11 nominees!

1. Write 3 words that describe your personality.
Giving, Spontaneous, Easygoing

2. How did you choose your blog name?
I originally started blogging for the Word of Mouth site, Influenster, hence the name. When I realized how much I loved blogging, my 'Influenster' blog grew to what it is now!

3. What subject did you dread in high school?
History. Just wasn't for me!

4. When do you find time to write?
Evenings I like to just sit back with my laptop and blog! Add some tea and it's a good stress reliever.

5. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I've changed a million and one times, but I initially wanted to be a veterinarian. Animals are a huge part of my life.

6. Do you prefer city or country living? Why?
All my life I have been a huge country/farm girl so that's how I will always be. My parent's as well as their parents also grew up on the farm. I guess it's just in the family.

7. What's your favorite quote and/or Bible verse and why?
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

When I first heard this verse (Yes, on Footloose), I just never forgot it. There is so much truth to it and so much meaning. Regardless of the situation, this verse applies.

8. What's a goal you want to conquer in the next year? (It doesn't have to be blogging related.)
My goal is simply to keep up. Being so busy, I end up getting behind on some of my favorite tasks (including blogging). So, I'd love to take a bit more time out for some of those things!

9. What is your favorite way to unwind and release stress?
Music and animals are two of my passions. Both are perfect for stress release. Just cuddling up with my puppies/kitties is always helpful. I also play guitar and write music which are huge stress relievers.

10. Do you have another talent besides writing that you love?
Well....I do and learn so many new things that I have given myself several talents. I do photography as a 'side job' for family and friends. I'm also pretty crafty. As mentioned above, I also play guitar and write music!

11. What are three things on your bucket list?
1. Visit Sydney, Australia
2. Volunteer at as many Animal Shelters as possible
3. Keep my health
The Smart Weigh body fat scale is truly a 'smart' device. Not only can you measure your weight, you can also measure body fat, body water, muscle mass, and bone mass. Perfect for maintaining or improving your health and appearance.

The scale looks pretty incredible too! With tempered glass and stainless steel accents, you're sure love the design. The screen displays bright, easy to read text/numbers and comes in very clearly. Plus, it is so thin that it can be slid under shelving/etc. if you so choose.

You even have the option to create up to 8 personal profiles to keep track of your health. Input your height, age and gender to get the most accurate results. It takes only a minute to set up and is incredibly easy to use!

On to my experience with the scale....

When I first opened up the box (well packaged by the way), I was really impressed with the design! While this may sound odd talking about a scale...it was very pretty! I've never had anything like it before. I've always just had the simple, solid colored, weight only scales that you get at big box stores. I must admit, I felt a bit spoiled. I also absolutely loved how thin the scale was, very sleek.

Next came the fun part. I set up my profile and stepped on the scale. I was excited...but nervous to see the results. I didn't understand my results at first, so I had to consult the manual. The manual is very informative and helps you to read your results. While I won't share my results, I will say that I was more pleased than I thought I would be. Of course I had my doubts that the scale may not be accurate, but when comparing the weight and bmi to past measurements, they were very similar. I feel pretty confident that the results are quite accurate.

The only minor issue that I had with this scale is that it is hard to keep clean. After standing on the scale barefoot one time, you can see your footprint. While easy to just wipe off, it can still be a hassle. Given the sleek design, I'm willing to put up with the footprints as opposed to a change in design.

Tips:
-Always use scale on a hard, flat surface to receive accurate results
-When measuring body fat, body water, muscle mass and bone mass, always stand completely barefoot. If you attempt wearing socks/etc., your results may not be read or will be inaccurate.

--------------------------------------------

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

If you're anything like me, you love trying new things! I've heard such good things about essential oils and just had to give them a try! When I received these in the mail, it was like a 5 year old at Christmas time. Literally. The more and more research that I do, the more addicted I become! Essential oils can be used for an endless amount of things.

Before I tell you about my cool creations, let me tell you about the brand. After doing much research (but I'm still no expert), I decided upon Plant Therapy organic oils. While I don't think Organic are absolutely necessary, I just feel more comfortable knowing that there weren't harsh chemicals used in the growing process. After looking from brand to brand, I chose Plant Therapy for the fact that the oils were affordable and the company appears completely legit. Plus, they have an incredible amount of items to choose from. Everything from essential oils, to diffusers, to carrier oils, to accessories are available for purchase.

So, as you can see above, I went ahead and purchased the Organic Essential Oil Sampler Gift Set! Cute packaging, right!? I chose this package because I wanted a variety and this package contained the basics at a lower price than buying individual bottles.

I bet you're wondering what each essential oil does and what it smells like, right? Because the oils are extremely concentrated, the scents are very strong but most are to be diluted in carrier oils (such as almond, coconut, etc.) before use. So....the scents that I describe are the pure oil scents that may change when diluted. I will also put a few uses of each oil that I have either tried myself or researched.

Eucalyptus
Scent: Similar to Vicks Vapor Rub
Uses: Respiratory, Sore muscles

Peppermint
Scent: This ones pretty self explanatory! (:
Uses: Diffusion, Cosmetics, Hair

Rosemary
Scent: Like a green herb in your spice cabinet
Uses: Hair, Brain Booster

Cedarwood
Scent: Woodsy, maybe even like a mens cologne
Uses: Hair, Skin issues

Sweet Orange
Scent: Exactly like a fresh peeled orange
Uses: Diffusion, Cleaning Products

Citronella
Scent: Hard to describe but almost like a sour/tangy scent
Uses: Bug repellent

Onto the good stuff! Check out these awesome recipes that I have tried out with my sampler set! By the way...the toilet bombs listed below are literally...the BOMB! Easy to make and smell just incredible!

Toilet Bombs

- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup citric acid (fruit fresh)
- 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide
- 15 to 20 drops essential oil (I used Sweet Orange)
- Sheet Pan
- Parchment Paper
- Measureing Spoons
- Spray Bottle (Optional)

1. Add the baking soda to a mixing bowl and use a fork to break up any clumps. Baking soda naturally cleans and eliminates icky odors, making it the perfect base for the fizzies. Add the citric acid, or powdered produce preservative, which you can find near the canning supplies at your local grocery store, and give things a stir. The citric acid adds the oomph to these cleaners.

2. In a small glass, mix together the vinegar and hydrogen peroxide, which work together to help clean your commode. Now drop by drop, add the vinegar and hydrogen peroxide to the baking soda. If you add the liquid all at once, you'll have a huge mess due to the reaction between the baking soda and citric acid!

3. Now add the essential oil and gently mix. Any fragrance works wonderfully, but something fresh like wintergreen, lemongrass, or lavender leaves a wonderful lingering scent.

4. Use a one-half teaspoon to scoop and mold the mixture into small half rounds and then tap onto a parchment-covered sheet pan. You can spritz the rounds with equal parts vinegar and water to create a crust, which helps hold them together. Let dry for at least four hours or overnight.

5. Place the dried fizzies in a sealable glass jar and keep next to your commode, making sure to stick on a label so they aren't mistaken for breath mints! The next time things get smelly, after flushing, drop in a tablet and you'll love how things freshen up in no time.
Diffuser Liquid

- 1/3 cup water (distilled is best)
- 2 teaspoons isopropyl rubbing alcohol
- 20 drops essential oil (I used peppermint)

If making your own diffuser (I just refilled a purchased wick diffuser):

- Bamboo skewers
- Short Bottle with a small opening

1. Combine the water and alcohol in a small bottle. Next add in the essential oil.

2. Trim down the bamboo skewers to a size about twice as long as your bottle. This gets rid of the sharp pointy ends of the bamboo skewers too.

3. Put several of the trimmed bamboo skewers into the bottle.
Recipe courtesy of The Make Your Own Zone

Fabric Softener/Scent Booster

- 2 cups epsom salt
- 15 to 20 drops essential oil (I used Sweet Orange)

1. Mix epsom salt and essential oil in a bowl (mix well!).
2. Transfer to an airtight glass container (I used an old candle jar).

That is just a taste of what you can do with essential oils! They can also be used to make all kinds of cosmetics, help with anxiety/stress, cure infections, relaxation and so much more. The possibilities are endless. Now....to go and create some more goodies!
Ta-ta for now! (:

Missy is a 5 to 6 year old Cocker Spaniel rescue. As a pup, she wandered up to a neighbors yard, and being the animal lover that I am, all homeless dogs in the area are brought to my home. Well...it just so happens that this time, I decided to keep her! While taking her in for an app. to have some teeth removed, it was discovered that my baby has an enlarged heart and kidneys. It is thought that she may have been dumped as a puppy for this reason. Luckily, she is under the care of an incredible veterinarian and is being taken care of well! She has never shown any symptoms, but was put on medication just in case! Anyhoo, as you may or may not be able to tell by the photo, she is extremely camera shy! So...bear with me on these pics!

Now...onto my review. So....what is this stuff?
Missy had the same question!

Organic Oscar is an [obviously] Organic pet care line consisting of shampoos, conditioners, sprays and wipes to keep your doggy (or puppy) clean, itch free and smelling great! Created by pet lovers for pet lovers, Organic Oscar is an excellent alternative to many of the bath care items we are accustomed to using on our furry friends. This brand is great for dogs with sensitive skin and is toxin free. Please refer to this excerpt from the Organic Oscar website:

"Recent studies have demonstrated that people tend to take in more toxins by way of touch and inhalation than through the foods they eat. Skin happens to be the largest organ of the body and presents the largest surface area through which toxic chemical movement can occur."

What did I think of it?

Well, for starters, this is the absolute most adorable packaging that I have come across. While packaging doesn't make a product good or bad, it just makes it more fun and also makes it stand out above the competition.

When I think of 'oatmeal' as in the shampoo, I assume a thick, almost chunky consistency. I was slightly concerned as to how this would work on my pooch. Thankfully, the shampoo is nothing like that. Instead, it is rather thin and easy to apply. It also smells great! With a mild peppermint flavor, I love the scent, and I would assume the cooling effect that it has would feel good for Missy! The aloe conditioner has a nice, thick and creamy consistency. As far as scent goes, I really didn't smell much of anything which is fine as I wouldn't want it to over power the shampoo. Such a perfect combination for bath time!

Applying the shampoo and conditioner is super easy! It is thin enough that you only need to use a small amount at each bath. There is also hardly any suds while applying or rinsing. Missy tends to try and eat them (though I can't imagine they'd be appetizing) in most shampoos that I use on her. It can be a pain trying to keep her from lapping them up so that is a nice feature. Plus, you can actually see the water to tell how dirty (or clean) doggy was.

If I had one tiny complaint it would simply be that the tops of the containers are hard to get on and off. Once they are off, really...they don't have to be put back on. However, I just like the packaging, so I choose to struggle putting them on and taking them back off. Once again, just something very minor, but worth mentioning!

When all is said and done, I told myself that I wouldn't use anything on my pup that I wasn't willing to use on myself. Well, I didn't actually put any of this in my hair...but I did wash and condition my hands with it. My skin was extremely soft and smooth so I assume Missy's was the same! Knowing that she feels good after her bath makes me feel good about the product! How do I know she felt good? This is the first time after a bath and drying that she crawled up in the chair and took a nap. Typically she wants to 'rub' (I assume this is what she's doing) the shampoo/conditioner off on all of the furniture! Kudos to you, Organic Oscar

Did you guys know that Kiss had a curling iron? Now you do!
Kiss Insta Wave is completely automatic and tangle free! Just simply lay your hair across the barrel, push the button and watch your hair spin around the curler. The automatic curling makes the machine easy to use for any person at any angle. The dial moves in both directions making it easy to create a natural look. It also features a high and low heat setting for those with sensitive or fine hair. The Kiss Insta Wave also has an auto shut-off option as a safety feature.

The first use for me was a bit hectic. Every time I attempted to get my hair to spin around the barrel, it just looked like a big mess! It does take some practice to get the hang of using this being automatic. You always have to hold the iron vertically to get it to wind up correctly. I also realized that if you put the hair on the left side, turn the barrel right. If you put the hair on the right, turn the barrel left! That way, it wants to curl more neatly around the barrel. Always be sure to lay the hair on the barrel as near to your scalp as possible. The iron will only curl down from where you place your hair on the barrel. Once you've got your hair spun around, it only takes 5 to 10 seconds to curl depending on how tight of a curl you want. In the pictures below, I chose to wait just 5 seconds to create large, messy waves.

To discover how versatile this machine really was, I attempted to curl several lengths of hair. Hair shoulder length and above does not work well with this curler. With the prongs used for spinning, it is far too hard to get the hair to wrap properly. Unfortunately, in my experience, this is meant for medium-long to long hair only.

Overall, I was very pleased with how nice the curls looked. Many "as seen on t.v." products that I have used in the past have been terrible, but this one has plenty of potential.

Some people are addicted to:

Coffee
-or-
Facebook
-or-
Nicotine
-or-
Chocolate
-or-
Pinterest
-or-
You name it!

I...happen to be addicted to INFLUENSTER! If you're not yet addicted, you should be!

If you are not familiar with this site, Influenster is a cross between a product review site and a Word of Mouth (WOM) marketing site. The perfect combination. Product reviews to research products before purchase and the WOM side allows you to try new products (via VoxBoxes) completely FREE. You just may discover new favorites...or maybe new dislikes! Either way, it's a win win situation!

Because I truly believe that a picture is worth a thousand words, why not show you just what is so addicting about Influenster! Check out the slideshow of all the boxes I have received below!

Influenster Boxesoriginaldate 1/1/0001 6:00:00 AMheight 1193width 1193camerasoftware PhotoScapeoriginaldate 1/1/0001 6:00:00 AMheight 1305width 1305camerasoftware PhotoScapeoriginaldate 1/1/0001 6:00:00 AMheight 1582width 1582camerasoftware PhotoScapeoriginaldate 1/1/0001 6:00:00 AMheight 1403width 1403camerasoftware PhotoScapeoriginaldate 1/1/0001 6:00:00 AMheight 1446width 1446camerasoftware PhotoScapeoriginaldate 1/1/0001 6:00:00 AMheight 1195width 1195camerasoftware PhotoScapeoriginaldate 1/1/0001 6:00:00 AMheight 1429width 1429camerasoftware PhotoScape

Those are just the physical boxes that I have received. What you don't see is the slew of 'virtual' boxes that Influenster offers. Those boxes are all done online and you are given the opportunity to win additional prizes upon completion. Completing tasks for for physical boxes also gives you the opportunity to win more prizes.

I have even taken it upon myself to store away all of the product cards from each box! Yes, I really did save them all. What?! I like to look back at them (lol)! Once again, check out the slideshow below to get an idea of the value of each box as well as product descriptions.

I bet you're going to ask..."How do you get those boxes?"
To be honest, I don't have a good answer for you. A lot of it, I would assume, has to do with your age and location. Companies often have a target group of people to market to. I'm sure it also helps to be an active Influenster member. Trust me, that isn't hard. You can also win boxes on occasion through Twitter parties and other promotions that Influenster runs.

Whether you receive boxes or not, Influenster is an asset. Product knowledge that I have received and the friends from the Influenster community that I have made, made the site well worth my time! So thank you, Influenster, for all you do! (:

Influenster has done it again! Another great VoxBox. Eight unique items for review...yes, EIGHT! Quite a jump from the usual four or five. The more, the better in my opinion. So....check it out!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves Mascara
Look at this brush! Have you ever seen anything like it? When I first saw this, I was a little confused...How does the brush hit all of your lashes evenly? Well...it does. It also isn't quite as curved as what it appears on the packaging. While it looks fantastic once applied, there isn't really anything spectacular or unique about the appearance. It is a basic, standard mascara that appears to have some lengthening properties.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick
First off.....bea-utiful color (Nude Delight)! I've always been a fan of nude colors and this is just perfect! Many that I have used in the past are either a bit too light or too dark. This is just about right! The one thing that I wasn't extremely happy with was the coverage. It seemed that if I had any loose skin, it would show through the lipstick. However, I discovered that if you put on a good balm beforehand, you can avoid this issue.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lip Liner
For all of the years that I've worn make-up, I've never used a lip liner. Why you ask? Well, I didn't like that you could see a slightly different shade around the edge of your lips. Well...silly me...I had no idea they made 'Clear' lip liner! Thanks for teaching me something new Influenster and Rimmel! So anyway...I gave this a try...and wow! How cool to be able to keep my red lipstick from 'bleeding'? So happy to have discovered this product and will definitely be using lip liner from now on!

Puffs Softpack
Really!?!? A full sized tissue packet in in plastic instead of cardboard?! I didn't know such a thing existed! While I admit, it is kind of a hassle to use in your home as the whole package lifts when you're trying for just one tissue. However, this is PERFECT for a vehicle or to pack for vacation/travel. It takes up less space and is so much more flexible than the standard cardboard. Not to mention, the designs are pretty awesome!

Hair Food Moisturizing Hair Mask
MmmmMmmmmMmmmm does this stuff smell good! Not only that, it's so easy to use! Take a dollop, rub and then comb through your hair and rinse it out! No need to let excess water swirl down the drain while you're waiting for your products to 'work'. While the intent of this mask is to moisturize (and it does), I think the best asset is that it makes your hair soft and smooth! Of course, it also makes your hair smell insanely delicious! ;)

Swiss Miss Simply Cocoa
With only 5 ingredients, Simply Cocoa is a great alternative to the ingredient 'rich' alternatives. To me, it is important to be able to know exactly what is in my food/drinks. If you can't pronounce it, it's probably no good. Don't fret, you don't have to give up flavor. In fact, Simply Cocoa is just as good if not better than the original. If you enjoy dark chocolate, be sure to try the Dark Chocolate Simply Cocoa version. It is absolutely delish!

Jergen's Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer
If you've ever used Jergen's products (or even if you haven't), you already know that it's good stuff! So...I won't bore you with all that. However, I LOVE the scent of this lotion. It has a very clean, fresh scent to it which is not overpowering. As the title mentions, this is for EXTRA DRY skin. When applied to my elbows which are really dry, the stuff worked so well. However, when I applied it my hands which are less dry, the lotion doesn't rub in quite as well and stays slightly sticky.

Resource Spring Water
Who doesn't love a water with added benefits!? This girl does! Resource pairs natural spring water with added electrolytes to keep you hydrated. I don't know about you, but I'm huge on spring water due to it's lack of 'flavor'. To me, water should be totally flavorless. With having added electrolytes, I was fearful that I would also taste them. Nope...not even a little! This is definitely my first choice for an enhanced water.

Overall, this was one of the best Influenster boxes that I have received. The very best?!? Proabably not, but it was way up there near the top. So many new discoveries in one small box! Thank you again Influenster and all the brands that included products in this box. I cannot wait for the next!

It's that time of year again. Hot cocoa, warm baths and candles! I know, I know, we don't want to say goodbye to summer....but why not make the best of the season. Old Factory candles can do just that! With 12 different scent sets, you're sure to find one that you'll love! Old Factory candles are hand made right here in the good 'ole USA. Each candle is made with natural soy wax and has self trimming wicks. Each dainty jar is just 2 oz. but is said to burn for a whopping 20 hours! That's just incredible!

Packaging
So basically....I'm a sucker for cute packaging. Two identical products can be put in different packaging and I'm willing to pay a bit more just for the packaging that I prefer. Anybody else suffer from 'cute packaging syndrome'?! I'm also a sucker for old fashioned, country style products. These candles are that and more! I absolutely love the simple, brown paper/cardboard style packaging that these come in. This would be absolutely perfect for a gift! Heck, you can even have it pre-wrapped with a gift message right from Amazon!

Scents
With so many unique scents, it's really hard to choose just one set. Buuuuuuut....I had to so I went with the 'Happy Holidays' set. Yeah...it's a bit early for these scents...I usually wait until after Thanksgiving...but hey...don't judge! ;)
With my set, I received the Christmas Tree, Candycane and Gingerbread scents. My favorite being the Peppermint...but I'm slightly biased to minty scents. Yum! Since I already knew the scents, I grabbed an unsuspecting guest to take a stab at guessing. First was the Christmas Tree. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to pick out the scent, but that is kind of a tough one. Knowing what it was already, I could tell that it was pine-y scented. Then came the Peppermint. Well...that one is pretty easy. However, it isn't overpowering, so it did take a second for her to name the scent. Lastly was the Gingerbread. Literally 2 seconds after opening the top, she said Gingerbread. What!?!? I thought for sure she cheated some how...but nope...it must have literally smelled that identical to actual gingerbread. Pretty crazy, right?! For your convenience, I'll put the complete list of scent sets which by the way are clickable:

If you've ever caught yourself humming along to "Sweet Carolina" (So Good, So Good) or one of Neil Diamonds other hits, you'll be pleased to know that he has recently released "Melody Road". It has been 6 whole years since Neil has released a new album and his first since signing with Capital Records. With a physical album purchase, you will also receive a 36 page lyrics and guitar chords pamphlet. To help you get a feel of the album.....

"Melody Road" (the song)is a calming 'melody' about songwriting. With such a simple theme, it is easy to just sing along and leave all your cares behind you. Any time you need a little pick me up, this would be a perfect choice.

Then we have love songs like "Something Blue". This song is a story about a man who found the 'perfect for me' spouse. Somebody who may not be perfect, but is perfect for them. Once again, the lyrics are on the simple side, but with tremendous meaning, care and love. Couples of any age will appreciate Neil's idea of saying "Goodbye to my little bit of something blue".

Fans of Neil's 2 most recent albums will certainly enjoy this one just the same. Through out the album, you will even see a few similarities between some of the songs. Don't take my word for it, buy the album for yourself and have a listen.
