ADOVIA Mineral Lift Serum Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I hope I'm not tiring you all of these ADOVIA reviews! They just have such unique, fun things to try out that I can't help myself. I believe this is my....3rd (?) ADOVIA review? Please, correct me if I'm wrong. All of my readers who want to avoid or lessen fine lines and wrinkles will surely appreciate this one. Wait?? Isn't that everyone!?

Details:

ADOVIA Mineral Lift Serum with Dead Sea Minerals, Green Tea and Vitamin C
"This deep absorbing, light gel is formulated with natural ingredients to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by increasing your skin's elasticity and firmness. Based on a unique formula of Orange Extract, Evening Primrose Oil, vitamins and Dead Sea minerals, it instantly moisturizes to improve your skin's texture - giving you a radiant, smooth and even complexion. Amino acids combined with Green Tea extract and Vitamin Pro B5 help your skin naturally regenerate - creating a firmer, more youthful appearance. Additionally it protects skin from daily pollutants and weather damage that can clog pores and cause wrinkles and breakouts."

PROS:

Consistency
The 'serum' isn't actually like the serum that you're probably used to. To me, serum is clear and quite thin and 'oily' like. This is more of an extremely light cream/lotion. When you pump it out into your hand, it appears white and creamy. Once you start to rub it into your skin, it instantly 'melts' and turns to a thin liquid. Pretty cool actually!

Packaging
The bottle and outer packaging for the product is absolutely beautiful! If I wasn't afraid that someone would think I was telling them they were old and wrinkly by giving it to them, I'd wrap this up as a gift!! The bottle is really great quality frosted glass with a silver pump and hard plastic cover. I love how there is a window in the outer packaging to show off the fancy bottle.

Effectiveness
Does this stuff remove fine lines/wrinkles? Honestly...I don't know. I do know that it helps reduce the depth of fine lines though! Instantly after applying the product, you can feel an almost plumpness in your face. I normally have somewhat dry skin and this gives my face a soft, smooth appearance. Can't complain about that!

CONS:

Pump
Now...I may have just gotten a faulty pump but it was a pain in the butt to get to work. It was almost as if the serum was too thick to move up the hose on the inside. I had to remove the entire pump and keep shaking the bottle to get the product down the center. Once I did that, I still had a bit of trouble so I just kept pushing the pump over and over. After about 15 minutes of wiggling and jiggling and a bit of a mess, it finally came out! Since then I have not had another issue. Again...I may have just gotten a bad pump so you may not have a similar experience.

Scent:
As with the other ADOVIA products, I wasn't a huge fan of the scent. It's not that it has a bad scent whatsoever, it just isn't something that I would prefer. It is very light, but floral at the same time. Once the product is applied, the scent quickly fades. This is a very minor issue in my opinion.

---

All in all, if you're looking for a natural way to minimize fine lines and wrinkles this is by far one of the best choices. It does retail for approx. $56 but most other similar products would go for much more than this! If you do choose to give it a try, please let me know what you think of it!

ADOVIA Dead Sea Mud Shampoo Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Sara here, back at ya with another ADOVIA review! The first time it was a mask, this time it's Dead Sea Mud Shampoo! Sounds intriguing, right?!

A little background on the shampoo:

"ADOVIA's Dead Sea Mud Shampoo is formulated with pure Dead Sea mud and natural moisturizers such as Olive Oil, Grape Seed Oil and Aloe Vera. Dead Sea minerals present in the mud provide relief for a dry or irritated scalp and leave hair naturally moisturized, fuller and manageable. Vitamin E strengthens the hair root and Chamomile leaves your hair soft and flexible."

Scent:
One of the first things that people do when they get a new shampoo is smell it, right? Or is that just me?!

Anyhow, I didn't really know what to expect by seeing the color of the shampoo. It's an almost blue/gray pearly color (very pretty). The first time, I really didn't care for the scent. I thought it was almost a floral scent. However, the more I smelled of it, the better I started to like it. Now...I really don't think it's floral but more of a clean, fresh almost soapy scent. I really can't pinpoint one certain thing that it smells like. However, the scent is very familiar!

Use:
One big thumbs down for me. Literally...for ME! I wanted to show a picture of how the shampoo works and I completely forgot!
When you squeeze it into your hand, it's a bit more gel like than what I would prefer. I'd rather it be more on the creamy side. When you do apply it in your hair, it does get nice and sudsy. Yeah, yeah...I know the suds aren't what cleans your hair, but it gives me a piece of mind! Overall, not a whole lot different than a big name brand.

Results:
As usual, I let my hair air dry once I got out of the shower to get honest results. At first I really didn't think it was different than any other brand. It was however, very soft and smooth. It also seemed much easier to comb through my hair than with my regular shampoo. When I did really notice the difference was when I went to put my hair up into a ponytail! My pony felt so THICK in my hands! I don't know what it was in the shampoo or that that was even possible, but it was!

At $23, this is probably something that I would only buy on very rare occasions. While I really like the shampoo and its thickening effect, I just can't see paying that much for something that I use on a daily basis. It just isn't economical to me.
Though I would suggest that you give it a try at least once as it is very unique. You can find this product on Amazon!

ADOVIA Purifying Mud Mask Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Yep, that's right, another mask review! Can you tell that I'm addicted?!? This time for the Purifying Mud Mask by ADOVIA! Before getting the opportunity to try this mask, I had never heard of the brand so I was very excited to discover another great product.

The first thing that you're going to notice about this product is the price. Yes, it retails for around $30! If you're only willing to pay $5 to $15 at a big name store, then of course this probably isn't for you. If you're willing to pay a little more for a great product, then please, keep reading!

If you're anything like me, the first thing you do when you pick up a product (especially beauty) is to read the back of the packaging.

"ADOVIA's unique Purifying Mud Mask is formulated with Dead Sea Black Mud, Beeswax and a deeply moisturizing combination of Jojoba Oil, Evening Primrose Oil and Olive oil. This natural mask boosts cell renewal and revitalizes your skin, while tightening your pores. As the mask dries, it gently pulls out toxins and impurities known to clog pores and cause visible signs of aging. The presence of Dead Sea mud infuses your skin with needed minerals while firming it and improving elasticity. Aloe Vera and Chamomile extracts soothe and calm your skin while Vitamins A and C leave it looking fresh and renewed."

Sounds luxurious, right?!? My first impression from reading the back was that it was going to smell ah-mazing! I mean...Jojoba and Primrose oil? It turns out that the mud doesn't really have much scent whatsoever. After doing some research, it turns out that Jojoba is used in many beauty products for this reason. It has a very mild fragrance. I was surprised, but not disappointed. In many cases, I'd prefer unscented products as some scents tend to get to me after a while.

When you first put the product in your hand to apply to your face, you'd think it's just like any other mud. It feels dense and heavy. However, when you apply a thin layer, it actually feels much more light an airy than other masks I have used in the past. Kind of a treat to have something a little different. The next thing I noticed is that it has a cooling effect. If that alone doesn't make your skin feel refreshed and renewed, I don't know what will! In the directions it mentions to leave on for 10 to 20 minutes or 'until dry'. Well...I had mine on for 20 minutes and it still didn't look dry. What the heck? As it turns out, it doesn't dry and crack as some masks do and barely changes color. Instead, it dries to almost a 'rubbery' (don't worry, it contains no rubber, lol!) look and feel. I had to gently touch the mud with my fingers to check for transfer. Once there is no transfer, you can tell your face is ready to rinse!

After removing the mask and applying a moisturizer (toner is recommended too, but I didn't have that), my skin felt and looked unbelievably 'fresh' and 'new'. It's clear that Vitamins A and C really do play a role in the mud! What a little mud and added ingredients can do for your skin within a 20 minute period is pretty insane.

If you know me at all, you'll probably already know what I'm about to point out from the above picture.
"Not Tested on Animals"
As you may or may not know, I am a HUGE animal lover! Any time I see a product with an image/phrase such as this, you've already gained my respect. So thank you, ADOVIA, for being respectful to our furry (and all other...textured?) animal friends out there.

----------

Overall I was pretty impressed with this product. The whole scent thing threw me for a bit of a loop but it didn't change my opinion on the product whatsoever. I absolutely love the fact that it is so refreshing. I'll definitely be using my ADOVIA mud mask on a weekly basis!
