Influenster Violet VoxBox 2013

I'm baaaaaaack! That's right! It's been a while since my last blog. I'm very excited to share this one with you! I qualified for the Violet VoxBox FREE from Influnester. If you're not familiar with Influenster, it is a product review site. They often have these 'VoxBoxes' that you can qualify to get. This is my 4th and I've been a member for just over a year! I'd say that's pretty awesome! Basically, you leave reviews and just stay active on the site and will have the chance at boxes such as this. When you get them, you have the opportunity to do all kinds of activities (such as writing a blog). Not to mention, there are 'brand' specific challenges where you have the opportunity to win additional prizes from companies that provide VoxBox items.

Goody Athletique Headband:
$6.00 Each

So, before I actually opened the box and saw this; I thought for sure I'd be getting Goody ponytails because I 'accidentally' peeked at one of the brand tasks (for Goody). Was I surprised when I saw this headband. Pleasantly surprised that is! My favorite way to use headbands is to wear them while I wash my face or put on make-up in the morning. Typically that is the only way I use headbands...but...I DID wear it to work out just so that I could review it for all of YOU! So, let's get to it! My absolute favorite thing about this headband is that it is reversible. One side is what you see on the picture and the other just the light blue. I don't know about you, but I like to change things up all the time. This is so much more convenient than having a whole bin of different colored bands! Another thing that I absolutely love is that the headband is wide. Some of those really skinny ones just don't hold your hair back far enough. Ladies with long hair, I think you know what I'm talking about! It's the most obnoxious thing to have strands of hair sticking to wet make-up or a wet face! As nothing is perfect...here is the negatives! Firstly, while I love Goody and think they have incredible products, I wouldn't likely pay $6 for one headband. Even $5 might be okay but I'd have a hard time spending $6 on one. Lastly, the headband did want to slip off a few times during my workout. Now...my workouts do consist of a lot of jumping and motion in general. I've never had a headband that didn't fall of now and again (which is why I tend to not wear them). However, I give them credit for being one of the best for workouts that I've used.

Sally Hansen New Triple Shine Nail Color:
$4.99 Each

Whoooooo! Nail polish!!! As a polish addict, you can imagine how excited I was to see this. Not only that it was polish but that it was one of my favorite colors!!! Who doesn't LOVE blue/green. Well...actually the color is called Dive In. It's kind of like a cross between turquoise and aqua! The very first thing I did when I took it out of the box was try to tighten the top just to find out it wasn't the 'only' top. Instead there is a top on top of the top (tongue twister anyone?). This is okay, but then the brand name should be placed on the bottle in my opinion. I just feel that if I were to choose to get rid of the outside cap, the bottle would be too generic. Next, I noticed the brush! It's flat and rounded at the tip. This is how ALL nail polish brushes should be if you ask me! Being flat, they put on a wider strip of polish in one swipe. Usually cuticles aren't perfectly square and that's where the rounded edge comes in handy! Next of course is the color. After one coat, it was still a tad transparent which is typical. After two coats, perfection! Now, the name is Triple Shine...so...is there really Triple Shine? YES! Yes, it really does have triple the shine of most polish! Now, I did use a top coat just to protect the polish so that it lasts longer. However, you don't need one if you're just using it for the shine because this stuff has a shine like diamonds! I'd love to tell you how long the polish lasts but I just put it on today! However, I do have high hopes!

SoyJoy:
$0.99 Each

So lets be honest...the bar doesn't look appetizing. Am I right? I had heard of SoyJoy many times before so I was excited to give it a try. On the Influenster card, it says to microwave for 8-10 seconds for a "fresh-baked" experience. To create the best review I could, I ate half out of the wrapper, and half warmed up! Let's start with the just out of the wrapper. As I mentioned, it doesn't look appetizing. When you eat it, it does have a bit of a dry crumbly texture. I'd prefer mine more moist. However, this isn't supposed to be bread, but a snack bar so this is understandable. I just happened to get banana which typically is not my favorite. I love bananas and banana bread but not things with artificial banana flavoring. The bar was very strong of real banana flavor which was awesome. Many people would probably not like this but I was very happy about it! Usually with these bars you taste more sweet grain/oats or whatever it is made out of than anything! Now to the heated version. When heated, the bar seems to have added moisture which is a plus. The banana flavor is also even more dominant warm. Verdict is, I wasn't a huge fan of the banana but did prefer it warm. I would however, be willing to bet that I'd love some of the other flavors!!

Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spas:
$2.49 Each

Woah! Craaaazy! I've never used a mask like this before! I'm sure you're all familiar with the mud/clay masks that you put onto your fingers and rub onto face, right? This isn't like that. It's literally a mask! Seeing as this is something that could use it's own blog post, that's just what I'll do! If you'd like to see additional pictures and hear the pros and cons, be sure to check that blog out shortly!!

Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo:
$5.99 (7 oz.)

Another Not Your Mother's product! Whooo! If you have read my other blogs, you probably already know that I have gotten a dif. NYM product in a previous VoxBox. Well, this time I got the dry shampoo! The other was okay, but I like the dry shampoo better! Influenster sent along a travel size (1.6 oz) bottle which is perfect for...well....travel! I love to keep it in my car or purse for on the go! When you spray it, there is kind of an almost men's aftershave scent...at least that's what it reminds me of. However, don't worry ladies, it doesn't last! I tend to buy shampoo/conditioner that smells good and wouldn't want anything to change that scent. Luckily for me, the scent of the dry shampoo only lasts for a couple minutes.

In conclusion, I'd like to thank Influenster and every one of the brands that supplied products in this VoxBox! It is truly appreciated! I'm overly excited for the next box full of goodies that I can try and review for Influenster, Brands and Blog Readers! Please be sure to follow/like all of the brand pages, they deserve it! Also, join me on Influenster.com and you can review boxes too!
